$10,000 Goal

Since 2019 we've brought neighbors, businesses, and nonprofits together to support vulnerable people who have nowhere else to turn.  Each month Kingman Cares receives more than 40 referrals from hospitals, doctors, the VA (Veterans Affairs), home health and hospice providers, Adult Protective Services, the Department of child Safety, and caring community members.  With the help of volunteers and partner organizations, we've strengthened the lives of more than 700 individuals and families.

Our mission is simple:  Everyone deserves compassionate access to services and resources that maintain or improve quality of life.  We know catastrophic illness and other emergencies can leave people homeless or ineligible for hospital, nursing-home, or shelter care -- and some who qualify for hospice have no safe place to receive it.  We believe every person should be able to pass peacefully, cared for and surrounded by community. This belief is the heart of what we do.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

  • Short-term transitional homes that let people receive home health, wound care, or hospice while they stabilize and move toward a long-term solution.  (We currently operate two homes and are repairing a third)
  • Durable medical equipment when insurance doesn't cover it
  • Food delivery for homebound or food-insecure neighbors
  • Clothing, shoes, winter coats, tents and sleeping gear
  • Transportation to Medical Related Appointments & Grocery Needs
  • Assistance with medication copayments
  • Daily or weekly phone check-ins, case management and advocacy
  • Care Packs for people who are unsheltered
  • Help completing referrals to programs such as Arizona Long Term Care and the Social Security Administration
  • Shelter and utility assistance when funds are available
  • Community fairs, events, and internship opportunities

CURRENT NEEDS

Our third home needs work before it can open:  flooring, kitchen cabinets, bathroom repairs, fire alarms, fans, and other safety fixes.

Other ongoing needs include coats, clothing and new shoes.  We attend community events and need sturdy clothing racks.  We need

building supplies for wheelchair ramps, cleaning and yard-care supplies, vehicle repairs, in-kind handyman services, gift cards, hygiene

items, towels/duffel bags, flashlights, socks and seasonal items like mittens and sleeping bags.  Because many documents still require

wet signatures, we also need two reliable printers.

IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT

  • $25 COVERS LOCAL PRESCRIPTION COPAY
  • $100 FUNDS A WEEK OF FOOD DELIVERIES FOR 1 HOMEBOUND SENIOR
  • $200 PROVIDES 6 MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION RIDES
  • $400 SECURES ESSENTIAL MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR 5 UNINSURED NEIGHBORS

Because YOU matter, isn't just a slogan -- it's our promise.  What we do is more than delivering food; it's life-saving equipment, advocacy, and the foundation for a better quality of life.  Anytime we receive a referral, we go above and beyond to help.  We've been called the lifeline across the valley, and with your support we can keep Kingman and neighboring cities strong.

Kingman Cares depends on STRONG partnerships, dedicated VOLUNTEERS, and financial CONTRIBUTIONS.  Every gift-whatever the size-- makes a real, visible difference in our own neighborhood.  Thank you for believing and joining our cause.

TESTIMONIES

"Because of the services and supports provided by Kingman Cares I was able to continue to live on my own. Even more, with the help they provided I was in a position to do things for myself without their help getting there". ~Kingman R
