VISIONQUEST 20/20 - CHANGING THE WAY WE LOOK AT CHILDREN'S VISION
• An Arizona-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2003 to develop and provide state-of-the-art vision screening technology to children in public schools.

EYESPY 20/20 TECHNOLOGY & DATABASE SYSTEM
• EyeSpy 20/20 was invented by founders Dr. James O'Neil, a pediatric ophthalmologist, and technology innovator Richard Tirendi.
• EyeSpy 20/20 is a state-of-the-art vision screening "game" that kids love and that is far superior to the wall chart developed over 150 years ago and prone to significant shortcomings, yet still used in schools today.
• The EyeSpy 20/20 vision screening program screens for all major and severe vision issues while a child "plays" a 2-3 minute video game.
• Independently and medically validated, EyeSpy 20/20 assesses visual acuity, depth-perception, and color vision by automating medically validated protocols to improve accuracy and reliability.
• The EyeSpy 20/20 program provides a HIPAA-compliant database that generates reports in English and Spanish, provides summary reports for schools and holds the distinction of the nation's only national children's vision screening database, allowing for further research and epidemiological analysis.
• EyeSpy 20/20 dramatically improves access to accurate vision screenings for children regardless of geographic location by easily reaching remote and rural populations.

THE NEED
• Vision health is fundamental to all aspects of a child's health, quality of life and educational success.
• Vision disorders are the 4th leading health issue impacting up to 25% of our nation's children.
• Correctable vision problems are often misdiagnosed as learning disabilities, attention related disorders or dyslexia.
• 5 Million Americans live with permanent vision loss that could have been prevented with early detection and treatment.
• Every 6.5 minutes a child is diagnosed with irreversible vision loss that could have been prevented with early detection and treatment.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• In Arizona in 2022, EyeSpy 20/20 was used by 116 schools and screened 41,696 children.
• Since 2010, EyeSpy 20/20 is utilized by more than 400 schools in 26 states and screened nearly 3,000,000 children across the nation.
• VisionQuest 20/20 is a GuideStar Platinum Rated non-profit.
VisionQuest 20/20's innovation EyeSpy 20/20 has been featured on NBC Nightly News, FOX News Health, National Public Radio (NPR), and named one of CNBC's Top Ten Most Innovative Companies in the country.

Testimonials

"My son was having trouble in school with his wri ting. His letters weren't connecting when he wrote them. He also passed the school wall chart screening twice, so I took him to the doctor to have them check his eyes. They said his vision was fine. When we received the EyeSpy 20/20 screening program at school, he failed completely including the 3-D portion. I took him into an eye specialist and they said he had amblyopia. Thankfully we got EyeSpy 20/20 and it identified his vision issues. I can't imagine where we would be today had it not been used."
Tiffani Vold, School Nurse & Parent Alhambra School District, AZ

"The students like playing the computer software game while their vision is being tested. They get a kick out of the game and seem to really enjoy playing the computer software. It certainly grabs their attention and holds their interest while they complete their mandatory vision screenings. The EyeSpy 20/20 computer software catches student's visual disabilities well."
Ms. C. Ramos RN, BA, CSN Asbury Park High School Asbury Park, NJ

"Regular vision screenings can help detect vision problems early to ensure educational readiness, and for some children, even prevent irreversible blindness. VisionQuest 20/20 has developed an innovative model to promote regular vision screenings for school children by checking for vision problems while a child plays a 3-minute video game. This model program is an exciting part of the solution to help protect the vision of our school children and ensure that every child reaches his or her full potential." Janet Napolitano, Former Governor of Arizona

"VisionQuest 20/20 is demonstrating that advancements in computer, internet and vision screening technology can overcome the barriers to large scale vision screenings, and help solve this serious public health issue. I strongly encourage anyone involved with children's vision health to learn more about VisionQuest 20/20." Richard Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States
