The museum closed on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and reopened in a modified capacity in July of 2020. Since reopening, and through today, museum attendance has been less than half of what it was pre-pandemic. The reduction in visitors over the past year (and its correlating revenue streams) has resulted in a 62% reduction in earned income- which is a critical for funding museum programs. The support of people like you allowed us to survive this period. However, we are still struggling to catch up and return to our full potential. Without further support, we will have to consider cuts to planned programs and exhibitions.
