The Mission of the Mini Time Machine Museum is to preserve and advance the art of miniatures for all.
The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is one-of-a-kind!
There is no other place like TMTM. We are proud stewards of a growing collection of more than 500 miniature houses and roomboxes, and we are in the process of digitizing the entire collection so people near and far can enjoy these wee wonders. Rotating temporary exhibitions feature an array of miniatures from local, regional, national and international sources educating visitors about miniatures and the societies that create them.
The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is for everyone and is a vital part of our community!
We offer many adaptive resources, participate in Museums for All, are a proud Blue Star Museum, and we are committed to reflecting diverse voices and perspectives in our exhibitions and programming. Thematic gallery guides (including large print), audio tours, mini-documentary videos, citations and story panels (some bilingual), gallery interactives, touch packs and touch tours, literacy programs, docent-led tours, artist demonstrations, and guest speakers, deepen visitors' understanding of miniatures. Additionally, classes, workshops and summer camps provide opportunities for youth and adults to make miniatures, heightening their appreciation of the craft. The Museum's website provides articles on miniature artisans, pieces featured in our collection, and miniature-making tutorials suitable for all ages.
Every donation helps us continue to inspire, educate, and preserve the magic of miniatures through our diverse programs and exhibits. From our engaging educational opportunities to the captivating exhibitions we bring to life, your generosity ensures we can continue to share the fascinating world of miniatures with all.
To continue to offer these gifts to the community, we need your help! Show your support today by making a donation and sharing our Arizona Gives page with your loved ones.
"When arriving (at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures), our expectations were surpassed. All teachers, chaperones, and students were really thrilled about all there was to explore and see. Little did we know this treasure was in our backyard."
- Nina Jolly, Kindergarten Teacher, Peter Howell Elementary School
"I am a math teacher at Sky Islands High School, and my Geometry class recently had the pleasure of visiting the Mini Time Machine Museum. We've been studying scale factors, ratios, and proportions, and so the displays were invaluable for generating great discussion and deepening their understanding of the material."
- Terri Berg, 5th Grader Math Teacher, Sky Islands High School
"Visiting the museum made an impact on our first grade students in multiple ways. They were able to see a snapshot of history that inspires them to think about how others might have lived long ago. They were able to see how others interpret stories in a different medium. In the class we take stories and create an opera as well as create art (drawings and paintings) and discuss how others create movies and more as a way to share a story. This was another interpretation that inspired many students. They were also able to identify details. This is an important concept that we work on in first grade and being able to talk about all the details that they see in the miniature scenes reinforced the concept of details for them. As teachers, we appreciate being able to share these experiences with our students to connect their real world to what they are learning in class. Thank you for the opportunity to bring our classes to The Mini Time Museum."
- Autumn Klesch, First Grade Teacher, Kellond Elementary School
