Support Music in Arizona

The Musician Enrichment Foundation (MEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2004 and dedicated to enhancing community life and enriching individual musicians through music education, chamber music, festivals, and financial assistance. Our programs serve youth, seniors in long-term care, and the broader community by providing meaningful musical experiences that support emotional well-being, personal growth, and positive social engagement.

Each year, MEF offers a wide range of community-centered programs, including:

• MEF Band Camp (2016–2025)

• Singing with Friends, a community-building program in long-term care homes

• An annual Professional Chamber Music Concert

• A loan program of donated musical instruments

• High School Student Chamber Ensembles providing musical development

This fundraiser supports MEF’s primary programs, including MEF Band Camp and Singing with Friends. MEF Band Camp serves more than 150 youth each year, providing exceptional musical instruction, community music-making, and leadership opportunities while also employing or engaging over 50 adults. The camp strengthens Tempe’s cultural life by developing young musicians, fostering positive community values, and offering a free culminating concert for families and the public. Singing with Friends brings active, joyful music-making to residents in long-term care facilities, promoting social connection, emotional well-being, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement through weekly choir rehearsals, professional concerts, and a final performance with a professional music ensemble. Participants' musicality as an avenue for expression and positive community interactions foster deeper friendships and a richer quality of life.

Donations directly support these impactful programs, enabling MEF to continue offering accessible music education, create meaningful intergenerational community experiences, and sustain professional musicians through teaching and performance opportunities. Proceeds will:

• Provide financial assistance for campers who would otherwise be unable to attend;

• Hire and fairly compensate high-caliber local music educators and musicians;

• Sustain and expand Singing with Friends to additional long-term care facilities across the Valley, bringing comfort and healing through music;

• Continue offering accessible music-making opportunities that strengthen community life.
