The Verde River and its tributaries are true Arizona treasures that support rare Cottonwood-Willow forest and the wildlife that depends on it including otter I've seen in Sycamore Creek and this great blue heron I photographed patiently hunting in Oak Creek's west fork.
I am so grateful to be able to visit the ribbons of green along Oak Creek and the Verde River. I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors of Friends, which continues to win awards for its work to protect the watershed through boots on the ground restoration, education and conservation, including the River Friendly Living program.
