For the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the board of Boost a Foster Family—and in that time, I’ve seen something powerful again and again:

Love shows up immediately. Resources don’t.

When a grandparent, aunt, or family friend gets the call to take in a child, they almost always say “yes” without hesitation. But many are living on fixed incomes or facing financial strain, and suddenly they’re expected to meet strict safety requirements overnight.

That’s where Boost steps in—and why I continue to stay involved year after year.

I’ve seen firsthand how something as simple as a bed, a car seat, or a smoke detector can mean the difference between a child staying with family or being placed with strangers.

This work matters deeply to me because it’s not just about providing items—it’s about preserving connection, stability, and a sense of belonging for children during incredibly difficult moments.
