Lobo Youth Summit: Empowering the Next Generation of Conservation Leaders
The future of wolf recovery lives in the hands of young people, and the Lobo Youth Summit is here to support them.
Hosted by the Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project, this program helps high school and college-age students turn their ideas into real conservation projects. From social science research and community surveys to youth-led media campaigns, zines, children’s books, workshops in Mexico, and more, students are creating meaningful, real-world impact for wolves and the landscapes we all share.
The Lobo Youth Summit is more than a program, it’s a launchpad for young leaders to become confident, informed, and assertive advocates for lobos. By fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, participants are guided to become solutionist thinkers, designing well-researched social action campaigns that support coexistence.
Today’s youth, especially Gen Z, are emerging as the Sustainability Generation. They care deeply about environmental issues and make decisions rooted in values and purpose. This program taps into that passion, equipping students with the tools, mentorship, and support they need to turn ideas into action.
We are already seeing the impact. Students have shared inspiring ideas and projects, demonstrating the powerful role young people can play in shaping the future of Mexican gray wolf recovery.
Your support makes this possible.
Every contribution directly supports:
