Pathways to Conservation: Leadership in Action
Shaping the future of conservation through knowledge, courage, and leadership.
The Pathways to Conservation Program, led by Claire Musser - Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project and Daniel Curry - Project GRIPH, provides college students with real-world, hands-on experience in coexistence work.
This program goes beyond the classroom, bringing students into the field to engage directly with non-lethal wolf–livestock conflict prevention and to work alongside ranchers navigating the realities of living with wildlife.
Here, students don’t just study conservation, they practice it.
Through immersive field experiences, participants gain ethical training, develop practical skills, and learn what it truly means to care for the land. From implementing non-lethal methods and range riding practices, to understanding the social, cultural, and ecological dimensions of conservation, students are equipped with the tools needed to create lasting impact.
This program is helping build the next generation of wildlife professionals, grounded in empathy, field experience, and a deep respect for both people and wildlife.
Because this isn’t just learning.
It’s leadership in action.
It’s how future conservationists learn to change systems, shape policy, and protect wildlife for generations to come.
With expeditions planned for 2026 and 2027, your support helps make these transformative experiences possible, expanding access, supporting students in the field, and strengthening a future rooted in co-thriving.
Support Pathways to Conservation and help empower the leaders who will carry this work forward.
