Our Mission at Agape Acres

At Agape Acres, we believe in the healing power of horses. Our nonprofit therapeutic riding center has been serving the community for eight years, providing equine-assisted services to children with special needs, veterans, and survivors of trauma. Through our programs, participants develop confidence, strength, emotional resilience, and a deep connection with these incredible animals.

We offer a variety of life-changing programs, including our after-school Equine Adventure Academy, our Veterans Program, and our Equine Restoration Program for survivors of sex trafficking. Additionally, our mounted and unmounted activities create an inclusive and supportive environment for individuals facing physical, emotional, and developmental challenges.

The Summer Challenge: Why We Need Your Help

Arizona summers are brutally hot, with temperatures soaring well over 100 degrees. Unfortunately, our facility does not have the necessary shade structures to keep our participants and volunteers safe in these extreme conditions. As a result, we must pause our programs for June, July, and August.

However, while our sessions stop, the needs of our 20 therapy horses do not. These equine partners continue to require daily care, including feed, veterinary services, dental care, and hydration support. The summer months become financially challenging, as we lose program income while still incurring significant costs to maintain the well-being of our herd.

This is where YOU come in. Your support on Arizona Gives Day will ensure that our horses receive the best care possible, allowing us to continue serving our community when we reopen in the fall.
