Save the Family equips families to address poverty, overcome homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency.
More About Us
Operating over 305 units of housing Valley wide, Save the Family provides housing and services for homeless families and housing to keep working poor families stable through market adjusted rents. Over 60% of our clients are children. We strive to create stability for homeless children through consistent housing, stable schooling, after-school programs, tutoring, and extracurricular activities. We also offer an array of supportive and career services to our clients. This includes case coordination, budgeting classes, parenting classes, a women's support group, and job club (a weekly job skills workshop presented in partnership with the business community where adults learn employment strategies. Adults gain knowledge and confidence to conduct themselves professionally during interviews and at work, including reliability in the workforce.). In addition to these services our Veterans Programs offer assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits. Year after year, approximately 45% of the homeless families at Save the Family have been victims of domestic violence within 12 months of entering our programs. Low educational attainment and job skills, as well as a lack of child care and reliable transportation, often mean individuals can only obtain low wage work. We work extremely hard to save families of all shapes and sizes, and to give them the tools they need to address poverty, overcome homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency.
