Founded in 1929, the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix is Arizona’s longest-standing choir, known for its rich history, exceptional artistry, and deep commitment to community. Our mission is to present choral music that entertains and adds cultural value to Arizona communities through high-quality performances and impactful outreach.

With a diverse repertoire spanning classical, sacred, Broadway, gospel, and contemporary works, Orpheus inspires audiences locally and globally. The chorus has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, participated in international cultural exchanges, and sung for dignitaries including President John F. Kennedy, Pope John Paul II, and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Beyond the stage, Orpheus is dedicated to making a difference—sharing choral music with students, veterans, the homeless and individuals living with dementia through community engagement, along with hosting an annual inter-generational concert with the Phoenix Children's Chorus and a tenor-bass festival designed to enhance the musicianship of middle and high school choir students. Now in our 96th season, we remain committed to artistic excellence, accessibility, and fostering a love of choral music.
