Tucson Pops Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Tucson Pops Orchestra is to provide professional quality concerts, free of charge, to the Tucson and Southern Arizona communities

The Tucson Pops Orchestra provides a professional fall and spring concert series every year free of charge to the public. In 2017 we will have five spring concerts and three fall concerts. Our goal for 2018 will be six spring concerts and four fall concerts

Our vision is to create a place that the community, but particularly children, can come together and enjoy good music. In a world that is becoming more and more divisive, music brings us together and reminds us that regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, religion, politics or any other category people use to divide, that we are a community and that we are all human. Thus, we believe that the music we provide reminds us that first and foremost we are human and neighbors before anything else.

We also have a desire to introduce our audience to a variety of different music and performances. Each concert features either musicians in the orchestra or performances by other artists in the community. For example, during the spring 2016 season, we featured three "Stars of the Future" Jun Lee on cello and Meghan Clair Crownhart and Liam Boyd, Irish Step Dancers. All three performers were teenagers who have been working on their craft for years. The Pops has a high commitment to encouraging children pursue and enjoy high quality music and arts, by highlighting younger performers, we showcase the fact that age doesn't have anything to do with quality and a desire to achieve mastery of a craft.
