The Urgent Why: Bridging Arizona’s Attainment Gap

At kNOw Limits Foundation, our work is driven by a sobering reality: Arizona’s future depends on education, yet the gap in attainment remains a barrier to economic mobility. According to Education Forward Arizona, nearly 7 in 10 jobs in our state will soon require a postsecondary degree or certificate, yet only 48% of Arizonans have reached that milestone. For the communities we serve, the data from The State of Black Arizona underscores an even more urgent need—with a bachelor’s degree attainment gap that persists at nearly half the rate of their peers. We aren't just providing "extra help"; we are intentionally and creatively closing these gaps to ensure Arizona’s growth is inclusive and sustainable.

Our Solution: The "Future Ready" Pipeline

We don’t believe in one-off interventions. We build a continuous pathway of support that meets students where they are:

• The Reach (Student Conferences): Through our three annual conferences, we engage 300-400 students each year, sparking the initial flame of career clarity and purpose.
• The Hub (Future Ready Center): Our weekend and afterschool workshops provide a consistent "third space" where youth develop the resilience, courage, and workforce skills needed to navigate adulthood.
• The Deep Dive (Tours & Scholarships): For our core cohorts, we provide high-impact college and industry tours. While limited to 40 students to ensure high-touch mentorship, these tours are the bridge that turns a "dream" into a "plan."

The Village: A Board of "Pracademic" Leaders

We are more than a nonprofit; we are a community of practitioners and entrepreneurs. Our board is uniquely composed of Arizona natives who balance traditional 9-to-5 careers in education and social services with their own successful small businesses. This entrepreneurial lens allows us to:

• Collaborate with Local Business: We don't just teach business; we bring small business owners into our mentor network to show youth the power of economic independence and community ownership.
• Foster Professional Mentorship: Because our leaders are HBCU alumni and professional entrepreneurs, we provide students with mirrors of success, helping them avoid the obstacles we once navigated.
