We are excited to be supporting Camp Patrick and Urban Retreat & Skills Center to facilitate overnight independence excursions for both children and adults!

SBAAZ is a statewide organization that strives to fill in the gaps of service and wellness experienced by children, adults and families on life's journey with Spina Bifida.
Experiences and events are offered to strengthen the support base of families, increase stability and focus on best care models. Children are able to connect at play dates, clinic activities, family picnics and themed parties to increase independence. Mentor parents can be matched to encourage new parents through the trying times of raising a medically impacted child.
Services to adults include support group meetings, accessible housing, job skills training, self-advocacy and community impact opportunities.

Testimonials

"I have never really made an effort to connect with others who have the same disability as I do. This time has helped me realize that some things I think are just my struggle are actually pretty common among my peers....peers I didn't even realize I had. This has been a very good experience for me and I want more of it."

"If it weren't for the generosity of SBAAZ donors and the dedication of the association there are times I might have been on the street.
I appreciate the association offering accessible housing for adults with Spina Bifida and being understanding of the difficulties in maintaining consistent employment with frequent surgery and recoveries. I will always support this organization because I know firsthand that the work they do matters."

"Thank you for all you do! It has meant so much for our family to connect with others, share ideas, and be involved in the programs. The adaptive cycle program has meant the most to my son. If it weren't for SBAAZ placing cycles with children he would have never known the thrill and independence of riding his own bike due to the outrageous cost of this equipment. As he is getting ready for college we look back with smiles on his childhood and the fun we all had with SBAAZ!"
