Sage Foundation for Health provides funding to 7 free community clinics throughout Maricopa County which are staffed with students and physicians from Sonoran University's College of Naturopathic Medicine. Patients include families in low-income school districts, survivors of domestic violence, patients recovering from homelessness, trauma, and substance use, and individuals seeking LGBTQ+ care.

Our teams treat chronic and acute health conditions by working with the patients to restore health and improve self-care choices through daily diet, exercise, and stress reduction treatment plans. These shifts give Sonoran University students a unique opportunity to provide treatment and gain skills and experience in a community healthcare setting and enhance their cultural competence working with a diverse patient population. Treatments often include clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, and prescription medicines when necessary. Thanks to generous community support, services and treatments are provided to patients at no cost.

Donations to Sage Foundation for Health qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, which means any Arizona taxpayer can receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their state taxes, equal to their gift to Sage.

2024 Tax Credit maximum amounts: $470 for single, married filing separate or head of household or $938 for married filing jointly

Testimonials

"I am so grateful for this clinic because I didn't have the money to go out and get professional help. Knowing what I know about homeopathy now, it was way better than starting on multiple prescriptions. I am just amazed at everything that has been made available to me. Acupuncture, massage, all sorts of techniques. And that they never gave up on me." -Anonymous Sage Patient

"Working in the Sojourner Center Clinic, it is almost like every visit is a new intake or the established patients come in with a new complaint. Because of this, my mind has expanded from thinking of 1-2 differentials per complaint to 5+ differentials to explain why patients feel the way they do. It's really allowed me to expand my thinking. I feel like every student should experience a shift at a community clinic and see the difference in working with this patient population!" -Chineyenwa Adaeze Iroka, 4th Year Sonoran University Student
