The mission of the River of Time Museum & Exploration Center is to engage, entertain, educate, and inspire people about the Lower Verde Valley, the river that runs through it, and the life that water brings to the desert.
We are here, surrounded by the Sonoran Desert, in the heart of Fountain Hills, Arizona and the Lower Verde River Valley. As you journey through our main gallery, you will learn the land's history from being under the ocean, to its geological history, and discover how desert dwellers - from to plants and animals, the ancient Hohokam, the Yavapai, early ranchers, and modern-day settlers - have found ways to create an oasis in this area. Come discover how this most prescious, life-giving resource - our water - is and how water supported life in this land throughout the millenia.
If you are already a member, staff, volunteer, visitor, or supporter, we are grateful for all you do to support us. Through that support, you make our events, educational programs, tours, and exhibits successful. The community shows us how much this one and only museum in Fountain Hills is love. Thank you!
