Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Our Mother of Sorrows Conference, Inc.

A Catholic lay organization, we seek to grow in spirituality by offering person-to-person support and service to anyone who is in need, to comfort and honor those who have called out to us in their suffering. Our food pantry provides food and toiletries to low income and homeless families. Our financial assistance program provides furniture vouchers, rental and utilities assistance, and other financial assistance to our clients.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Our Mother of Sorrows Conference Inc. has been providing support to low-income and homeless families since 1960. With 43 members, our Vincentians are committed to serving our clients with humility, compassion, charity, and love.

Our food pantry program provides food and toiletries to low-income and homeless families. During our most recent fiscal year, the Conference distributed food to 4,066 low-income and homeless people living in our boundaries. Our Vincentians made this possible by giving 3,185 volunteer hours working in the pantry. We received an estimated $26,223 in food donation contributions. Our financial assistance program provides rent, utilities, furniture vouchers, and other similar support to our client families. During our most recent fiscal year, we provided financial assistance to 102 families. We provided $17,808 in rental assistance, $15,660 in utility assistance, and $831 in other assistance such as furniture vouchers for families experiencing financial hardship.

Together with our parish community, our Conference Joseph Project distributed 172 Christmas boxes of food to feed 779 people this holiday season and distribute Christmas gifts to the families with children.
