More Than A Bed

To provide essential items at no charge to foster, kinship and adoptive families for the children in their homes including those in a congregate care setting, because every child deserves to be valued.

We service foster, kinship, and adoptive families with essential items they need at no charge; providing beds, cribs, diapers, clothing, and strollers in order to help the family with the transition of a child entering into a new environment. By providing support to these families, we strengthen the resolve of the parents to provide a safe and loving home to these displaced children. Our hope is that with our support, more families will respond to the call to foster; and established foster parents will remain foster parents for a longer period of time. More Than a Bed (MTaB) is dedicated to improving the lives of foster children so they can develop a hope for the future and be valued.
Founded in September of 2014, MTaB began with 5 families; in 2022 we have served over 990 families and more than 2770 children. Families can come to our warehouse to get supplies for a new placement or replace clothing needed due to normal growth. We host a "Christmas Event" annually where MTaB entertains the children for five hours with new gifts, food, bouncy castles and Santa for family pictures. Other events include an annual Golf Fund Raiser, and speaking engagements to raise awareness.
Private donors, businesses, civic groups, foundations and in-kind donations of practical items from the community primarily fund MTaB.
