Our story starts in 2003 when the Kieser family actioned their faith to share their blessings. They turned a barn on their family farm into a distribution site for local food pantries. Soon they realized the need was greater and there was room for growth. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the valuable work of our volunteers, and most importantly, the blessings of God, Midwest Food Bank now shares the blessing worldwide. Today, there are 10 domestic locations and 2 international locations.
In 2023, we reached 1,300,000 people with the help of 36,000 volunteers and 2,400 non-profit partners, which is a record achievement for Midwest Food Bank. Our food donations have had an impact on the lives of those we serve, extending beyond physical nourishment to positively influence mental and spiritual well-being.
The Arizona Division of Midwest Food Bank opened in March 2017 with 30 agency partners. Today, we serve over 260 agency partners from our Gilbert warehouse and a satellite location in Tucson. We continue to grow and help with the fight against hunger in the southwest region of the United States. We serve agency partners across Arizona and into parts of Southern California. As the demand from agency partners increases, we continue to look for ways to provide food for all.
Susie V. and Family, MFB food recipient, AZ:
"My heart is blessed to see how the Lord uses so many different servants to bless his people. Thank you, Laurel, for being a blessing to our Navajo Nation in Window Rock."
