Kids' Chance of Arizona, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 which provides educational scholarships to children of Arizona workers who have been fatally or seriously injured in a work-related accident. The scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants based upon academic credentials and demonstrated financial need, and are renewable as long as the qualifications are met.
Every year, over 3 million people are disabled by on-the-job injuries. Another 5,000 lose their lives. It is the families, and in particular, the children, who are most disrupted by the parent's injury. While Arizona Workers' Compensation benefits replace the lost wages of an injured or deceased worker to some degree, they are often insufficient to help the family with its most important responsibility, their children's education. Kids' Chance of Arizona is proud to help these children to reach their educational goals and fulfill their dreams for the future.
While most of the scholarships that are awarded provide funding for college and graduate school, scholarships are also available for high school, vocational and technical education. These scholarships are provided through generous donations, and the hard work of many volunteers. As one of our recipients noted, Kids Chance is more than a system of financial aid. We are unique in our investment of time and support. Each student and their family forms an ongoing bond with a volunteer on the scholarship committee. That volunteer vets the student's application, encourages the student and remains involved as much or as little as the student and their family prefer. That relationship can span several years and is one of the most enjoyable parts of our volunteers' experiences.
Kids' Chance of Arizona has a 25-year history as part of a national movement that began from a desire to ensure that our most vulnerable families can have a chance to succeed through the power of access to education. In that time, we have been able to award over $873,000.00 in over 377 gifts. Your assistance will help us to make the dreams of many more families possible. We hope that you are as passionate about our goal as we are!

I am a junior at ASU studying Aeronautical Engineering. I was blessed to be a recipient of the Kids Chance scholarship. This wonderful organization provides scholarships to children like me, of workers injured on the job, so we can pursue our educational goals. My father was injured on the job as I was about to turn fourteen. He was not able to work and his injury caused a lot of financial stress within our family. My older sister was nearing her start of college, and I was too young to work. Money became very tight.
We heard about Kids Chance Arizona through my dad's lawyer, Robert Wisniewski. This charitable organization has immensely assisted me in pursuing my career goals. The cost of my college tuition this semester was greatly reduced with the scholarship, helping me to focus more on my busy load of schoolwork, and cut down the number of hours I needed to be working at my own job.
I am beyond grateful and appreciative for Kids Chance AZ. I thank them for this amazing opportunity which helped me and many other kids attending college!

My name is Daisy Espino and I am a sophomore attending Arizona State University. My father passed away when I was 8 leaving my mother to raise 4 children on her own. Money has always been an issue in my family, and until I was in my senior year of high school I didn't even believe college was an option for me. The lawyer who helped my mother when my father passed away told her about the Kids Chance scholarship and told her to save the information for when
her children are ready to go to college.
None of my older siblings went to college, but my mother believed I had the potential to continue my education and saved the information for me. I am now the first college student in
my family and with the help of Kids Chance AZ, I am able to go through each semester without being stressed daily about money...
