Homeless Youth Connection

For 15 years, Homeless Youth Connection has removed barriers to graduation for youth experiencing homelessness. Our programs provide the guidance, resources, and support students need to succeed academically and build a strong foundation for the future.

To eliminate barriers to graduation for youth experiencing homelessness and create lasting solutions for a successful future through community support and increased awareness. 

Our Story: 

Founded in 2010 with a single high school, HYC has grown alongside the community. Today, we serve youth at over 130 schools across Maricopa County and Flagstaff. Over the past 15 years, we’ve helped 6,000+ youth experiencing homelessness with case management and essential resources so they can stay in school and reach their first critical milestone: graduating from high school. From there, they continue their journey toward careers, stability, and independence.

Why Our Work Matters: 

Youth without a high school diploma are 4.5 times more likely to experience long-term homelessness. Every barrier we remove — from housing instability and lack of food to transportation challenges, missing vital documents, and limited access to health care — brings a young person closer to stability and opportunity. HYC meets youth where they are, offering critical services that help them overcome barriers and thrive.

Services Include:

• Educational support (class fees, technology, clubs)
• School supplies, hygiene, and clothing
• Employment resources and job readiness
• Assistance obtaining vital documents
• Health insurance enrollment and support with medical co-pays
• Post-graduation guidance (FAFSA, college applications, job prep)
• Housing assistance and referrals when available
