Our unique program equips people with practical recovery tools for everyday life. We teach people "how" to live a sober life. Our meetings are conducted in partnership with local churches and led by volunteers. These volunteers receive on-going support and training by our organization so they are able to provide the necessary care for those engaged in our program. For those working the program, we offer support in job searching, housing, schooling, financial guidance and court issues. We also offer counseling services. We serve people from all backgrounds. We have many stories of success. Lives that have hit rock bottom and changed completely. The wreckage of addiction takes years to repair. Preventing relapse depends on strong support and tools for on-going growth and change. Not only are individuals being changed but entire families are restored.
Freedom House offers long-term affordable housing and transition support for single moms and kids. Moms are provided with a structured program of support while they work a job and tackle the every day responsibilities of life. Moms receive addictions/trauma counseling, parenting classes and parenting plans, budgeting, life skills and more as they work toward independence and self-sufficiency.
"If I would not have been able to enter Freedom House, I would have lost my children and probably died. Have I learned how to be a good mom and stop the cycle of addiction in my family. I am now in my own home and my life is completely changed." -Danielle
"My son told me I couldn't be with my grandchildren because of my addiction. I didn't know how to get clean and had been addicted to prescription pain pills for 11 years. Hope for Addiction was with me after I completed detox, my mentor helped me with all of the messiness to rebuild my life. Six years later, my family is restored, I watch my grandchildren, and I oversee Freedom House, the Hope for Addiction home for single moms and their kids. Life has continued to throw hard things at me. The tools I learned and friendships I still have from Hope for Addiction, allow me to work through the hard things and not return to substances to cope with life." -Tracy
