Lastly, we understand that medical expenses during cancer treatment can be substantial, and we are committed to providing support throughout this period.

Diagnosis: Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recipient Impact Statement: "I am 32 years old and currently battling Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. I was first diagnosed in September 2018 with HER 2 + Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Stage 2 Grade 3. I had to start treatment right away due to the rate at which the cancer was growing. I finished treatment and was in remission for 2 years! I was able to get my own place and work full-time and really started getting things back to normal for me and my daughter. Then on October 17,2021, I went to the hospital due to stomach issues and I found out that there was a mass in my right lung. This news completely shattered me and would in the months to follow, rob me of life. Once again, I started treatment right away! This time treatment included radiation, 5 rounds of Taxol and 1 full year of hormone therapies. In December 2021, I lost my apartment and I had nowhere else to go. It was either the streets with cancer and a child or my biological mom's garage. It has been very hard for me to share this part of the journey because it's not how it looks on TV or movies. I really am so thankful that I reached out to Families Raising Hope! I spoke with Melissa, and she listened, and she heard me. I have been drowning and not expecting much and not knowing what to ask for. I could never express how much you guys have saved me. I am crying typing this. Diagnosis: Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma
Impact Statement: "I am extremely grateful to FRH because while undergoing treatment for Metastatic Melanoma Stage 4 (diagnosed 9/15/2021) my husband and I are struggling to make ends meet. Even though we are getting help from family, friends, and ex-coworkers, it's never enough to pay for our rent, gas expenses, utility bills, food, medical bills, co-pays, medicines, etc. I was referred by my social worker at CTCA who sent me an email link to Families Raising Hope...
