Bridging AZ Furniture Bank

A nonprofit organization

Empowering People and Bridging Lives Toward Self Sufficiency Our Vision Statement: A Community of Realized Potential and Personal Dignity

Bridging AZ Furniture Bank is the first and largest furniture bank in Arizona. Bridging is headquartered at a Mesa warehouse, where we receive donations of new and gently used furniture, which we clean, repair, sort and store. Then, we partner with social service agencies who find housing for clients moving out of homelessness or other dire circumstances. When they move into an apartment, Bridging is there to turn a bare living space into a home, with beds, tables, chairs and dressers.

Bridging started in 2004 with the simple premise that "no child within our reach should be sleeping on the floor." Over the years, Bridging has provided more than 310,000 pieces of furniture and household items for more than 60,000 families and individuals.

Testimonials

Founders Jim and Donna Piscopo, our Board of Directors, staff, interns and the tens of thousands of people we have helped want to thank our supporters for 20 years of service.

Here are some letters of thanks from our clients:

"Bridging provides our agencies reliable deliveries of quality furnishings at a fraction of the cost on the open market. The effect on newly-settled clients is obvious. You can see the excitement on their faces when the kitchen table, the beds, the dressers and the sofas arrive. Their apartment unit transforms. They are home." -- Shane Groen, Special Initiatives Director, Arizona Housing Coalition

"Thank you! I love my new bed. my Mom likes her kitchen table to" -- from an 8-year-old, written in crayon

"To Bridging AZ, I wanted to thank you for the wonderful opportunity to get such nice furniture for my family. We are so thankful for your thoughtfulness and service." --from a mother of six children

"I just had to tell you again how much I appreciate the furniture for the Grower family. It's all great stuff and I know this will make a huge difference in their lives." -- from a caseworker about grandparents who just received custody of their two grandchildren

"Thank you for being so generous and thoughtful!"

"The best place to intern!" --ASU graduate
