About Us:

Arizona Women's Recovery Center (AWRC) was established in 1960 as the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD). Arizona Women's Recovery Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit substance use disorder treatment agency that has helped thousands of women through the recovery process.

From intervention to emergency and long-term housing to support programs, AWRC is there every step of the way. The well-trained, multi-disciplinary staff is cutting edge in the field of addiction and the patient's needs are the top priority.

At AWRC, our goal is to treat the whole woman and her family with education on medical needs, psychiatric needs, one-on-one and group therapy, vocational training, supportive housing, and trauma therapy. We believe this holistic approach is the key to the long-term success of our clients.

All of AWRC's programs focus on providing the tools and resources to assist women in becoming financially self-sufficient and to believe in their potential to remain drug/alcohol-free and live a quality life. The primary population served today at AWRC, are underserved, adult women in Maricopa County who report having an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.

How to Support:

Donate today though the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Donation!

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Donation is a simple way to support the women and families that AWRC serves. This comes at NO COST to you, as every dollar you donate is returned to you in full as a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Arizona state taxes. There is no minimum donation amount required and you can make a one-time donation or several donations throughout the year.

Single, filing separate taxpayers can donate up to $470 for 2024 and $495 for 2025.

Married, filing jointly taxpayers can donate up to $938 for 2024 and $987 for 2025.

100% of your Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Donation goes directly to the women for necessities such as childcare needs (car seats, strollers, diapers), community meals, apartment furnishings (couch, kitchen table and chairs, cribs), and vocational services (tuition and books for community college classes).

Testimonials

"Day by day I was just selling my soul. You get to a point where there is nothing left to sell. While at NCADD, I learned how to make friends, how to budget my finances, time management, keep my home, be a good parent and earn a degree."
- Christina (Weldon House)

"Today, I thought about how far I have come. I'm proud of myself. I've never felt so much worth and value. I've made it. I am so grateful for what I have, so many blessings in my life. It's because of NCADD and these people who taught me values and morals, gave me everything I have today. If it weren't for them, I don't know where I'd be."
- Michelle (Women's Outpatient Program)

“I am a proud Alumni of the Weldon House program. [Entering Weldon House] was the best grown up decision I have ever made for me and my son. I am grateful to have graduated and learned how to be a sister, friend, parent, and daughter to those around me. Arizona Women’s Recovery Center gave me the opportunity to get my life back on track, go to school, and create beautiful lasting memories with my family. I have struggled with addiction for 17 years of my life and two DCS cases by the time my son was 4 before entering treatment. While at Weldon, I learned budgeting, positive parenting through the Nurture Heart Approach, recovery maintenance, self-worth through mirror work, and [I learned to] trust that my clinical team had my best interest at heart. I was able to focus on my recovery because of the many donors who help support AWRC through all these years. Today, I am grateful to be a part of this team and am able to give hope to the other women that there is a beautiful life to recovery. My family and I thank you.”
- Dee (Weldon House, Current AWRC Case Manager & Intake Specialist)
