Building Bridges, Breaking Barrier Peacemakers in Action

Arizona Faith Network is committed to building bridges across faiths, cultures, and communities to create a more just, compassionate, and connected Arizona. We unite people from diverse backgrounds to foster understanding, collaboration, and action on critical social issues.

Our Key Initiatives:

🤝Interfaith Dialogue & Collaboration – We bring faith communities together for conversations that promote mutual respect, shared learning, and collective action.

🏡 Community Engagement & Advocacy– We empower faith leaders and communities to advocate for social justice, housing security, and policies that uplift the most vulnerable.

A Few Programs Highlights:

🔹 Know Your Neighbor (KYN) Initiative – This program fosters intentional interfaith relationships by encouraging neighbors to build trust, learn from one another, and strengthen community resilience. Through guided dialogues, storytelling, and community organizing, KYN helps local faith communities develop a shared identity and **reduce fear and violence through education and connection.

🔹 Heat Relief & Community Resilience—As the number of extreme heat days rises, AFN is leading efforts to expand cooling center partnerships with faith communities, ensuring life-saving relief for vulnerable populations. The program remains a critical service for Arizona’s most at-risk residents.

🔹 Safe Communities Coalition – AFN and our partners are helping to launch a community-wide Safe Communities Coalition, bringing together faith leaders, organizations, and local partners to promote safety, resilience, and crisis response. Law enforcement serves as a key partner and resource, but the coalition is community-driven, focusing on education, relationship-building, and collaborative solutions to create safer, thriving neighborhoods.

Your support on AZ Gives Day helps us continue bridging divides, fostering unity, and driving positive change across Arizona.

Testimonials

·"AFN's focus on serving historically disenfranchised neighborhoods, where residents face disproportionate risks during extreme heat events, is commendable. These communities often lack access to resources and face systemic barriers that exacerbate their vulnerability to extreme heat. The AFN's tailored interventions, including support for individuals experiencing homelessness, demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these populations." Dave Hondula, Director, Heat Response and Mitigation

·"For the past three years, First Church UCC Phoenix has proudly served as a heat respite center in partnership with the Arizona Faith Network (AFN). During this time, we have seen how this program has provided life-saving community outreach to some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Through the establishment of cooling centers and hydration stations in our neighborhood, particularly those inhabited by low-income and communities of color, AFN has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting health equity and resilience." Pastor Susan Valiquette, First Church UCC

· "They do excellent social justice work. People of all faiths are welcome at the table." - Rev. Tully Fletcher

· "Provides an educational and prophetic interfaith voice." - Jo Vredenburg
