Tucson Concert Band

A nonprofit organization

Tucson Concert Band, the oldest continually active community band in Arizona, is celebrating its 60th anniversary season.

Founded in 1966 by Howard and Liz Beaver, proprietors of Beaver’s Band Box in the 1960s and 70s, Tucson Concert Band is a wind symphonic band comprised of brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. The musicians are volunteers from the greater Tucson area and include active or retired music educators, professionals, and amateur hobbyists. Under the direction of Arno Dittrich, who emigrated from Germany to make his musical home in Tucson in 2008, the band is regarded as one of the highest-performing community bands among a vibrant Southern Arizona musical community.
