ReEntry by Design: Engineering the Second Chance
The Challenge: The "Cliff" of Reentry
Every year, thousands of men and women leave Arizona’s correctional facilities with a dream of a better life but without a map to find it. They face a "cliff"—a sudden drop into a world of complex legal fees, housing instability, and employment barriers. Without a plan, the result is often a return to incarceration. At ReEntry by Design (RBD), we don't just provide a safety net; we build a bridge.
Our Unique Approach: The "Whole Person" Model
Founded by Brett Matossian after his own release in 2013, RBD was born from a firsthand realization: reentry isn't just about finding a job or a bed; it’s about navigating the "whole of life."
We differentiate ourselves through continuity of care. The same dedicated staff member who helps an individual design their release plan while they are still behind bars is the same person standing at the gates to help them execute that plan on day one. We address the unique set of challenges—from restoring family units to quashing legal fees—long before they become crises.
Our Impact: Restoration & Safety
RBD provides intensive, localized support that restores lives and strengthens our Arizona communities. Our program focus includes:
Direct Mentorship: Guiding participants through the emotional and logistical hurdles of reintegration.
Essential Necessities: Providing the "Armor" for a new life, including professional clothing for job interviews and essential hygiene items.
Family Reunification: Supporting the healing of relationships that are the bedrock of a stable society.
Crime Reduction: By equipping our neighbors to succeed, we significantly reduce recidivism, creating safer communities for businesses and families alike.
Why Your Support Matters
When you give to ReEntry by Design, you aren't just donating to a nonprofit; you are investing in a neighbor's determination to build a better future. Your contribution directly funds the clothing, the mentorship, and the specialized advocacy required to turn a "formerly incarcerated" label into a "productive citizen" reality.
Join us in engineering the second chance.
Because when one life is restored, an entire community is made safer.
