Pawsitive Friendships

We help individuals with special needs who are not engaging, complying, or progressing in their therapy by providing goal-oriented animal therapy, thereby supporting and encouraging the kids through the unconditional love of an animal-human friendship. By working with the children's therapists, aides, and teachers in schools and clinics, our animals can encourage the children to achieve their therapy goals.

Our volunteer Animal Therapy teams work with special education schools and classrooms and adult day programs throughout Maricopa and Pima Counties.

The creative mother of a child with Autism founded pawsitive Friendships. She discovered that by incorporating the family's gentle and pliant dog in her son's therapy, she could dramatically increase his progress, both behaviorally and scholastically. This model inspired our organization, and thanks to the ongoing support of our community, we are now helping hundreds of special needs children throughout the Valley.

With YOUR help, Pawsitive Friendships will be able to expand our reach and assist even more individuals with special needs, especially those from low-income families.
