Plant Seeds. Nurture Growth. Create Year-Round Momentum
Partnership With Native Americans® (PWNA) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit s proud to participate in Native Nonprofit Day as part of a broader effort to increase visibility for Native-led organizations and strengthen local community support. Through partnerships with Tribal Program Partners across the Northern Plains and Southwest, PWNA works to address immediate needs while supporting long-term solutions identified by Native communities themselves.
From emergency food and water distribution to educational support, youth leadership development, Elder assistance, animal welfare services, and disaster relief, PWNA’s programs are built around the belief that Native communities know what is best for their people. By supporting Native-led nonprofits like PWNA, donors help ensure communities have the tools, funding, and autonomy needed to continue creating sustainable solutions from within.
For Native Nonprofit Day, a group of generous donors has committed to matching contributions made to PWNA, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $2,000. Matching funds will be applied to qualifying donations until the $2,000 limit is reached.
Native Nonprofit Day also serves as an opportunity to educate broader audiences about the disparities Native nonprofits continue to face within philanthropy. Despite their proven impact and essential role in community development, Native-led organizations remain historically underfunded and underrepresented. This movement seeks to change that narrative by elevating Native leadership, increasing visibility, and encouraging long-term community investment beyond a single day of giving.
More about PWNA:
Our mission/vision: Serving immediate needs, supporting long-term solutions for strong, self-sufficient Native American communities. Our programs address immediate needs related to food and water, health and wellness, K-12 education, disaster relief, holiday support, and animal welfare. Additionally, PWNA’s long-term solutions are building capacity and developing community leaders who can drive social change for their tribes. Every day, we are changing Native lives. And every year, up to 200,000 Native Americans welcome relief from the day-to-day symptoms of poverty. To learn more about our impact, visit https://nativepartnership.org/reports.
Testimonials
“It’s one thing to read how big the Pine Ridge Rez is, but another to drive and drive and still be there. It’s bigger than I ever expected. It’s eye-opening to hear the challenges distinctive to these communities and see how PWNA is responding. They’re pretty amazing.” - Joe, Funder
“Even though these reservations are far away from where I’m from, the struggles are the same. You see the beadwork, the rez dogs, the kids playing rez ball — it reminds me of home. You see how hard PWNA works in the community and how happy our program partners are to see us coming. Whether we’re delivering food boxes or just there to talk, they are always excited to see us.” - Sampson, AIEF Recipient
“Ahéheeʼ nitsaago. That means ‘thank you so much,’ or ‘a lot!’ Thank you for helping provide for our community. Many blessings back to you for what you’re helping with. A thousand ‘thank yous’ wouldn’t be enough. I hope you are blessed, remain happy, live a strong life, and become more resilient. May the Holy People bless you in many ways.” - Danielle, Navajo
