We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, abandoned, and neglected street dogs from Mexico. We have a strong foster program in the Tucson area, and we also work closely with partner rescues throughout the US and Canada to rehome dogs. Our operations also include providing help to care for dogs at our partner rescues in Mexico. This includes acute vet care for dogs, medical vetting, spay/neuter clinics, food, shelter, training, and transportation. We also have a wheelchair lending program.

At Paws Without Borders our mission is to help rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and care for dogs found on the streets of Mexico. We work primarily with our sister organization, (Paws Without Borders / Vida con Causa - Mexico), but we also assist other rescues in Mexico.

Paws Without Borders - (aka Vidas Con Causa in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico) runs a shelter for approximately 200 dogs, and growing! They provide a safe and loving place for them to live their lives where they are provided medical care, food, and shelter. Whenever possible, we work to rehome these dogs through our own foster and adoption program and partnerships with rescues throughout the US and Canada.

Fundraising is a key priority for us. Funds we raise are used for:

Medical care for dogs in the shelter and emergency cases as they arise (for example: blood transfusions, limb amputations, spinal surgeries, parvo treatment, routine medications for tick and valley fever etc.) We often have several special needs dogs in our care, and their needs can be expensive.

Medical vetting (parasite and other testing), vaccinations, de-worming, and spay/neuter for adoptable dogs to be brought to the US for transfer to other rescues/shelters to find their forever homes.

Transporting dogs from Mexico to Tucson and then Tucson to partner rescues (to date we have worked with rescues in Montreal Canada, Oregon, Wisconsin, Texas, and California). We hope to expand these networks as we grow.

Spay / Neuter clinics - We are never going to adopt our way out of the overpopulation of pets. Spay and neuter clinics allow us to help the communities we serve in Mexico provide safe and free spay/neuter for street dogs and pets, helping to curb the suffering that street dogs experience throughout their lives.
