About Marching4Vets

Marching4Vets was founded by Thomas, a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and former Medic who served under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” After years of participating in veteran events across Arizona, Thomas and his husband, Steve, noticed something impossible to ignore: LGBTQ+ Veterans were almost entirely absent from the spaces meant to honor them.  

Their research confirmed what they were seeing—there were no non-profit organizations in Phoenix or across Arizona dedicated specifically to supporting LGBTQ+ Veterans. That gap in visibility, representation, and community sparked the creation of Marching4Vets, now a registered 501(c)(3).  

Our mission is simple and urgent: to uplift, represent, and give voice to LGBTQ+ Veterans while promoting mental health awareness for all who have served.

Why We’re Raising Funds

We are working to raise a minimum of $2,500 to fuel programs and visibility efforts that directly support Veterans in our community. Your contribution helps us:

- Provide paid scholarships and entry fees for Veterans to participate in local fun‑runs, rucks, hikes, and community events—creating connection, wellness, and belonging.  

- Show up proudly at the Phoenix Pride Parade and Festival, ensuring LGBTQ+ Veterans are seen, celebrated, and represented.  

- Build and debut a Marching4Vets float in the 2026 Phoenix Light Parade, shining bright—literally—to honor the strength, resilience, and pride of LGBTQ+ Veterans and allies.

Every dollar helps us create spaces where Veterans can show up authentically, find community, and be recognized for their service and their identity.
