Kinder Village Org

A nonprofit organization

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and community of people that have come together to support and uplift the non-speaking and minimally-speaking autistic population and the gifts that they have been given to share with the world. The cornerstone of our community is that we PRESUME COMPETENCE when approaching and responding to this autistic population, and this is also the main message we wish to convey and teach to the greater Tucson community and beyond through the many initiatives that our community engages in. It is our mission to assist this autistic population in finding their authentic voice through spelling on a letterboard, typing on a computer, the use of an AAC device, or whatever means best suits them along their journey, as it will likely evolve for most over the span of their lifetime.

The GRAND VISION:

We have a long-term vision of acquiring a 100+ acre property in Southern Arizona that holds a K-12 school, an organic regenerative farm (that includes aquaponic and rainwater harvesting systems), a yoga & meditation department, a mindful movement and music department, an athletic department, long-term housing, an RV Park, as well as other initiatives that will engage our community with the greater Tucson community and beyond. An important part of our mission is to join neuro-divergent individuals with neuro-typical individuals through adaptive programs, where the two populations are better able to understand and share their strengths with one another to create a more cooperative and accessible environment for all. Movement is an important aspect of our approach to education. We will have many outdoor areas as well as a large indoor recreation facility where we provide adaptive programs that unite the autistic youth with neuro-typical youth athletes through organized sports, as well as basic strength and conditioning.

The organic food production that is regenerated by the farm will central to nourishing our community and surrounding communities in a holistic way. We will have several products that we sell from our “brick and mortar” general store and plant nursery located on our property, as well as to local grocery stores, restaurants, farmer’s markets, retail shops, and online. Some of the products we will sell include plants, seeds, gardening materials, pottery, fruits, vegetables, herbs, mesquite flour and syrup, cold-pressed organic fruit juices, artwork, music, jewelry, etc., with many of them being produced in-house.

We will also have a “Next-Gen” long-term housing program, with homes that have been designed and built with eco-friendly and sustainable practices in mind, for the purpose of allowing the autistic adult and their parent/guardian or attendant care provider to share a home, while empowering a sense of independence. With this purpose in mind, we envision a retirement community program naturally emerging in our community as well.

18 Years and Up

We intend to place a large emphasis on addressing the extremely low rate of employment among the autistic community. We will focus much of our efforts on clearing a path toward meaningful employment for the neuro-divergent individual after they turn 18-years-old, through our own projects and support of the individual as well as the business they are employed by.

Model Community

On this future land, we envision hosting our many workshops, symposiums, educational and recreational retreats all with the intention of encouraging and empowering others to create their own version where they live. We are on a mission to help Southern Arizona become known as the quintessential model of cooperation and presuming competence.

Where we are right now...

We have the people with the knowledge, skills, and tenacious determination required to turn this ambitious vision into a reality. We are in the process of building a micro version of the agricultural and building infrastructure at a private location in Central Tucson. This serves as a model for donors, as well as an additional location for classes, business offices, and product and material storage during the interim and into the long-term future of our organization. We are searching for a large parcel of land, which will likely be outside of Tucson, but still close enough to fulfill all our initiatives concerning community collaboration.
