High Country Lactation Care, Inc

Our mission is to provide lactation support to anyone in the Northern Arizona region who needs it, regardless of ability to pay.

Flagstaff Breastfeeding Center, an established lactation support program within Flagstaff Birth and Women's Center, has recently become "High Country Lactation Care, Inc" (HCLC). We are now Northern Arizona's only free-standing Non-Profit Lactation Center. Our goal in 2021, is to secure funding to support as many low income families as possible through our full-service lactation education and support programs.

HCLC provides prenatal screening visits and "Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes for Couples" to families intending to human milk feed their infants. After babies arrive we provide Lactation Consults for clients needing support or experiencing difficulty. Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Maya, is equipped to handle all level of infant feeding complications. HCLC provides pumping consults and "Working and Pumping Classes" for those parents getting ready to return to work who desire to continue nursing their babies. We also supply clients with hospital grade breast pumps and related equipment when needed.

HCLC hosts a weekly infant feeding support group, "Nursing Nook," in which all parents can come and celebrate their victories and/or problem-solve their current infant feeding concerns. The group serves as an anchor and lifeline for those struggling to meet their nursing or infant feeding goals given the pressures of daily parenting life.

HCLC is also a "Milk Depot" for the Mother's Milk Bank of Colorado, serving as a donation site to families donating human milk to save the lives of fragile infants and those in need.

It is our strong commitment to the Northern Arizona Community that our services be available to all families seeking to meet their human milk feeding goals - whether that be exclusive breastfeeding, combination feeding with infant formula, pumping, or inducing lactation for adoption or any combination of the above. Our doors are open to the public and nobody is turned away for inability to pay or lack of insurance coverage.
