Greater Vail Community ReSources

A nonprofit organization

Greater Vail Community ReSources was established in 2016 in response to the growing need for local social services in Southeastern Pima County, an area largely isolated from county and city support programs. What began as a small, volunteer-driven effort to provide emergency food assistance has grown into a cornerstone organization serving thousands of residents each year.

In 2017, ReSources opened the Vail Food Bank, which quickly became the heart of the organization’s work, offering emergency food boxes, fresh produce, and essential items to families in need. Recognizing additional unmet needs, ReSources expanded its services to include the Meals to Grow Program for schoolchildren, Homebound Senior Meal deliveries, and Holiday Meals for families during the festive season.

Over time, ReSources also introduced programs to strengthen household stability, such as SNAP enrollment assistance and VITA tax preparation services, helping families access resources and financial relief.

Today, ReSources remains powered by community volunteers and sustained through partnerships, grants, donations, and the Vail Depot Thrift Store, which helps fund operations. From humble beginnings to a trusted community hub, ReSources continues to live out its mission of “neighbors helping neighbors”—feeding the hungry, supporting families, and fostering hope throughout the Greater Vail area.
