Fostering Heroes Foundation is a Phoenix-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth impacted by foster care to become the heroes of their own lives. The organization was founded to address the gaps many foster youth face in mentorship, life skills, and consistent adult support as they prepare for adulthood. Its mission is to empower foster youth to become the heroes of their own lives by providing skill-building, career exploration and mentorship as youth age into adulthood.
Fostering Heroes currently operates two core programs: Everyday Heroes Mentorship and Future Heroes Camp. Everyday Heroes Mentorship provides consistent, relationship-based mentorship and life-skills education to youth living in foster and group homes. Trained volunteer mentors meet regularly with youth to build confidence and teach skills such as communication, goal setting, financial literacy, and job readiness. Future Heroes Camp is a structured leadership and personal development experience that helps youth build resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence through guided activities and mentorship.
The organization serves youth ages 12–18 living in foster and group home settings throughout Maricopa County and the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Annually, Fostering Heroes provides over 5,000 hours of mentorship to over 150 teens in foster care through year-round programming. Participants demonstrate increased confidence, stronger interpersonal skills, and improved preparation for education, employment, and independent living. By focusing on prevention and skill development, Fostering Heroes helps at-risk youth build stable futures while strengthening the broader Phoenix community.
