Guiding You Through Cancer
Cancer doesn't come with a map, so we help create one with our take-everywhere binder designed to organize appointments and records. Need reliable cancer information, coping tips, support, questions to ask? It's all in the Bag It Bag. Don't feel lost during or after treatment with Bag It as your guide.
Bag It is one of the country's leading resources for cancer recovery. In the last 19 years, our reach has expanded beyond newly diagnosed patients to providing resources, tools, and services for patients with any type of cancer-at any phase of the treatment process, for caregivers, and for advocates. This one-of-a-kind resource includes select publications from the most respected organizations as well as the My Companion Guidebook, which gives patients a way to organize information. Bag It's vision is to provide every cancer patient with the Bag It resource bag. Our materials are designed to conquer fear through information and to empower patients to be more involved in their care and become self-advocates.
"Each part of the bag is helpful in a different way. The calendar helps keep track of all my appointments. The notes section helps keep track of the purpose/results of those appointments. The plastic sleeve keeps the numerous business cards easy to locate. The pocket in front of binder holds additional info when needed. The section dividers keep everything in one place. I keep the binder on top of my dresser for easy access and refer to some part of it every day." ~Peggy, (AZ)
"This book helped keep track of appointments, test results and information needed for many referrals throughout the cancer journey. I would think of things I wanted to ask my doctor and then would forget once I was at the appointment, however, the binder helped organize records and thoughts so I felt more prepared. The glossary of common cancer words was also helpful." ~Survivor (IA)
"The notebook has been particularly helpful for organizing my years of tests and setting a system in place for the future. Having the notebook as a framework for me to work with helped me learn to be a better advocate for myself. I had files and folders but nothing was really in order. I like my new organized system that gives me a place to keep all the information together. In six months I actually have improved my whole outlook. Receiving the bag was timely, it came at a time that I was really having a rough time with my illness, so I'm grateful as I was able to take all my frustration and worries and do something more productive." ~Jocelyn (WA)
