Refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Congo, and more. We help refugees belong - through English, citizenship and friendship. Where they proudly contribute by volunteering with dignity.

At Abounding Service, we know refugees resettled in the U.S. want to be connected and to feel like they are contributors to their new home in America.

The problem is many refugees don't speak English which makes them feel shut out. Most don't have a single American friend.

We believe refugees should be able to connect with their local communities and contribute by fully using their gifts - especially through volunteering to serve those in need.

We understand how badly it feels to be shut out. This is why we've taught English and citizenship with 1-on-1 volunteer Encouragers to over 1,500 refugees for 16 years - all free of charge.

A key to our students' success is in building relationships with our American Encouragers. It transforms the volunteers' lives as well!

Here's how you can help:

Donate to provide free English classes for refugees so they can connect with our local communities and proudly contribute by volunteering with dignity.

AND, we're an AZ Tax Credit eligible organization, so you can donate and increase your refund or decrease what you owe on your AZ taxes by the same amount you donated - up to $938!

Follow these three simple steps:

1.Donate (up to $938 for couples filing jointly or $470 for singles) to Abounding Service on or before April 15.

2.Use your electronic or paper receipt as proof of donation when filing your Arizona state taxes.

3.Claim the Arizona state tax credit when you file - and increase your refund or reduce what you owe by the exact amount you donated. (Use AZ Form 321. Our QCO code is 21983.)

Without removing the English language barrier, refugees will stay shut out. They won't have the language ability to help those in need. Refugees' kids learn English in school while the parents don't have that opportunity. When parents struggle to speak into the lives of their children and connect, a split in the family widens.

Instead, through your donation, you are part of the team that's making the world better.

You're changing the trajectory of entire refugee families. As a result, they're able to connect with others and contribute with pride and dignity.

Testimonials

Several of our adult refugee English students volunteered in November by packing and quality control-checking Thanksgiving dinners for those in need.

Lay Paw (Burma) brightly shared about this experience, "I like to help other people, and people who are not refugees. I feel like coming to the U.S., people wanted to help. I want to help back. I feel like I belong here even more now!"
