Keeping Families & Pets Together in Times of Crisis
Companion Pets in Crisis, believes that no one should have to choose between their own well-being and their beloved pet. For individuals especially veterans facing homelessness, financial hardship, or personal crises, the unconditional love of a pet can be a lifeline. Our mission is to provide essential support that ensures pets remain with their families, offering comfort and stability when it’s needed most.
We take action by providing pet food, supplies, and resources to those in crisis—whether they are homeless, transitioning into housing, or facing unexpected emergencies. Through partnerships with local organizations, including those serving veterans and individuals seeking employment, we ensure that pet owners have access to the necessities that help keep their companions by their side.
For many veterans, their pet is more than just a companion—they are a source of comfort, stability, and purpose. After the hardships of military service, returning to civilian life can be overwhelming, especially for those facing homelessness, financial struggles, or health challenges. But through it all, their pet remains their constant support, their family, their reason to keep going.
Our work also extends to supporting families affected by house fires. In collaboration with fire departments and the Red Cross in Maricopa, we provide comfort kits and essential pet supplies to those who have lost everything, helping them rebuild with their pets by their side.
What sets us apart is our grassroots, volunteer-driven approach. We are not a funded program—we operate entirely on donations and the generosity of our community. Every item we provide, every meal we distribute, and every resource we share is made possible by compassionate individuals and organizations that believe in our mission.
Beyond supplies, we help break barriers that prevent pet owners from accessing shelter and housing. Whether it’s providing an emotional support animal (ESA) letter or offering guidance on pet-friendly resources, we strive to ensure that pets are recognized as family, not obstacles.
By bridging the gap for those in need, we’re not just helping pets—we’re preserving the bond between humans and their loyal companions, bringing hope and stability to lives in transition.
This Arizona Gives Day, we’re raising critical funds to ensure that no veteran has to say goodbye to the pet that keeps them grounded.
Why Pets Are Essential for Veterans’ Wellbeing:
Emotional Stability – Helping veterans cope with PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Mental Wellbeing – Reducing stress, loneliness, and suicidal thoughts.
Purpose & Routine – Giving veterans motivation and structure in their daily lives.
But too often, veterans struggling with housing or medical issues are forced to choose between their pet and their own well-being. We refuse to let that happen.
Through our Vets & Pets Program—in partnership with U.S.VETS Shelter Your Donation Provides:
Emergency Temporary shelter when veterans are hospitalized or in crisis, Pet food, vet care, and supplies to keep pets safe and healthy.
$25 – A month of pet food for a veteran’s dog or cat.
$50 – Essential vaccines and wellness care.
$150 – Emergency medical care for a pet in need.
$250 – Temporary pet shelter while a veteran is hospitalized.
Because in times of crisis, love shouldn’t be left behind.
