Applied Coastal Sciences and Engineering

A nonprofit organization

We are a disaster relief organization which also does research. In Arizona, we help economically-distressed communities recover from damages sustained through natural disasters. We will make repairs and restorations where essential for the future sustainability of the community, and we will assist the community in development and implementation of an economic recovery plan. ***We are assisting ADHS Infectious Disease program secure PPE and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic***

A community that is economically-distressed cannot help itself. The resources do not exist, or had long been exhausted, to get them back on their feet. This is when ACSE will come in with our assistance personnel. We will locate and acquire resources needed to stabilize the community. What does the community want to look like in the future? We will Repair/Restore/Rebuild essential community structures to set a stable foundation for growth. Such a project can exceed $1M in capital costs.
We also will take baseline observations for future research regarding geology, geography, and biology, of the affected areas. Long-Term climate studies may also be undertaken using the baseline. We will purchase and restore a damaged building to use as Researchers Residence, to facilitate the introduction of visiting public researchers. We believe the longer-term actions of research will keep the community in the public "eye" while allowing the community to benefit from advances made through the research. ***WE are currently assisting ADHS Infectious Disease program and Maricopa County Health find volunteers and PPE for the covid-19 effort***
