Prevent Child Abuse Arizona

A nonprofit organization

Prevent Child Abuse Arizona is working to prevent child abuse before it happens and to help those who have experienced abuse build resilience to its effects.

Prevent Child Abuse Arizona Arizona is a state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, one of 50 state chapters nationwide that form a rich network of prevention expertise. Uniquely, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona is the only statewide organization in Arizona devoted solely to the prevention of child maltreatment. The goal of our prevention work is to inform new parents with evidence-based programs to keep children safe when children are they are most vulnerable and costs are lowest.
Our programs and trainings focus on solutions to the problem of child abuse and neglect, at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. We partner with early childhood, child welfare, behavioral health, family support, law enforcement agencies, and the courts as well as universities to address common goals for Arizona's children and families which are best achieved through collaboration. We concentrate strategically on new parents, early in the family life cycle, through birthing hospitals, home visiting, and early childhood programs so abuse and neglect do not occur. Since 1989 we have been engaged in developing prevention services in response to community needs, as well as training thousands of community professionals and new parents about what they can do to keep children safe and families strong. Prevent Child Abuse Arizona provides services to 60,000 individuals annually through an array of child abuse prevention services.
Thanks to our donors, these prevention strategies have touched the lives of countless Arizona children and families.
