Helping Arizona's Lost Dogs Get Home

Lost Dogs Arizona is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. We are a member of the Lost Dogs of America network and we are partnered with Helping Lost Pets. We provide social media networking of lost and found dogs, a searchable map-based database at www.HelpingLostPets.com, automatically generated flyers to help with dog/owner searches, email alerts, expertise and resources as well as support for owners and finders of lost dogs in our state. All services are provided free of charge.

Lost Dogs Arizona works with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to increase the number of shelter dogs that get back home to their owners. Our goal is to reduce euthanasia rates by getting more dogs back home. Getting shelter dogs back home is better for the dog, brings a family back together and frees up kennels and rescue/adoption resources for dogs truly needing new homes. We network sheltered dogs, provide lobby support and assist with programs to increase Return to Owner rates.

Programs aligned with that effort include:

New Microchip scanner donations to other like minded organizations, as well as Local Police Departments and Municipalities, so that every dog found can be scanned immediately.

New Statewide Microchip Clinics; we are working with local animal control shelters to purchase microchips to be implanted for free to the public at events throughout the state.

Public education on lost pet prevention, high risk dogs, microchips and what to do if they lose or find a lost dog.

Shelter volunteer teams to assist owners and finders, match shelter dogs with missing dog reports and research microchips with incorrect information.
