Desert Seed Resource Center

The Desert Seed Resource Center has a mission to increase the availability of native plant materials for conservation of the desert southwest through education, research, and collaboration.

The increasing threat of wildfires and invasive plants in the southwestern deserts is impacting habitats that we rely on to support our livelihoods and provide recreation opportunities. It also negatively impacts local wildlife. To combat this degradation, Desert Seed Resource Center (DSRC) is working regionally, to improve the availability of locally adapted seeds and plants for use in restoration projects. Our current focus is working with partners to develop strategies for farming native species and tools to support growers and land managers so that their efforts can provide long term improvements to and conservation of the outdoor spaces we all enjoy.
