About:

Housing Solutions of Northern Arizona, Inc. (HSNAZ) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit housing organization whose mission is to build opportunities for sustainable affordable housing in northern Arizona. Housing Solutions of Northern Arizona was founded 36 years ago through the grassroots efforts of local citizens concerned about the lack of safe, decent, and affordable housing in the Flagstaff community. Housing Solutions was built with focus on collaboration and impact. We continue, to this day, cultivating partnerships to explore opportunities for safer, healthier, and more affordable housing for our northern Arizona communities. Our Sharon Manor Transitional Housing Program provides safe shelter and case management to survivors of domestic violence and their children. We recently expanded with the opening of JoJo’s Place in Flagstaff and Oakwash Homes in Cottonwood, both transitional housing programs that serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We provide down payment/closing cost assistance, housing counseling, and homebuyer education . We own 25 properties that are rented to low income individuals. Across all programs, we work with those facing housing instability, and barriers to safe, stable housing. Through our services and community partnerships, we help clients build financial security, access housing, and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

Robin's Story

Robin spent most of her life trying to survive what began as horrific childhood abuse. She turned to substances to numb the pain and, for years, couldn’t imagine a different future. Robin disclosed that she truly didn’t think that she would make it to this point in her life. Then Robin and her two children arrived at Sharon Manor, a Housing Solutions’ program that provides safe housing and trauma-informed support for survivors of domestic violence.

For the first time, Robin had a place of her own. A door that locked, a quiet place for her kids, and a case manager who stood beside her, even in court. With steady guidance, she learned her rights, faced her abuser, and started believing she could rebuild. Today, Robin is two years sober, employed locally, and her children are thriving. She still leans on her support network, but she isn’t afraid of tomorrow anymore.
