Tucson Spellers

Tucson Spellers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering non-speaking children and adults who use spelling or typing as their primary form of communication. 

Founded in 2024, our mission is to support communication needs, build community, advocate for non-speakers, create meaningful educational and social opportunities for individuals and families, and provide funding for 1:1 services, training, workshops, gatherings, events, and essential resources. Tucson Spellers is also committed to expanding access across Southern Arizona by growing a network of certified Spelling to Communicate (S2C) practitioners and trained communication partners. 

Grounded in the voices and leadership of non-speakers themselves, we create inclusive spaces where individuals can build friendships, share their experiences, and access resources for personal, social, and educational growth. We are equally committed to supporting and educating parents, families, and caregivers as essential partners in this work.
