Who We Are

Founded in 2011, Arouet Foundation is an Arizona-based nonprofit that supports justice-impacted women as they transition from incarceration back into their communities. What began as a workforce preparation program inside Arizona’s Perryville Prison evolved into a comprehensive, research-informed reentry approach that addresses the real conditions shaping long-term success.

Today, Arouet is the only full-time nonprofit embedded in Perryville’s Second Chance Center, serving women in the final 90 days of their sentences and continuing support into the community.

Our Mission

To restore individuals, rebuild families, and positively impact communities by annually empowering up to 600 justice-impacted women in Arizona through a comprehensive reentry continuum.

Our Impact

  • 6,000+ justice-impacted women served over 15 years
  • Three-year recidivism rate below 10%, compared to Arizona’s statewide rate of ~36%
  • Below 2% recidivism among Second Chance Center participants over a three-year period

These outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness and fidelity of Arouet’s holistic approach.
